The Chicago Marathon is just a few days away and even though my ankle is still not 100% I am going to do this thing come hell or high water. You guys are so right. Even if I DNF at least I had the courage to toe the line. When I signed up for this race back in January I thought a fall marathon would be great. I thought a nice crisp fall day would be the way to go. The forecast for Sunday is 86 degrees. Can anyone guess what the record high is? It's 86 degrees!!! Can you freakin believe that? I was thinking 60-65 degrees. This should be interesting. My bib number is 26209. If anyone wants to follow along on race day just go to this link and follow the instructions to receive updates at 15K, halfway point, 35K and Finish Line.
I went for a short run today and this is what came running straight at me.
I swear my heart stopped for about 5 sec. I was lucky the dog was chained up , but I still almost wet my pants. I mean really, this dog weighed like 120 pounds. As if I don't have enough stress already this week.

Good Luck Mark,
I will be thinking of you this weekend, even if you don't finish, just the thought of all that you have accomplished is amazing.

Have fun Mark! And that dog would have scared the shit out me!
Good luck with the marathon. Drink up!
I'll be thinking about you on Sunday. I wish I could be there to cheer you on but high temps and 8 months pregnant don't really mix : )
Let us know how you are!!!!!
