2007 was a year of change for me. I completed my first sprint triathlon and became a triathlete, something I have aspired to be for some time now. I also trained for and ran in my first marathon even though I didn't finish, something about it be 90 plus degrees in October. I did all of this while weighing near 300 pounds. I'm not going to make any sort of New Years resolutions or anything for 2008, but I do want to continue loosing weight and training and competing in triathlons.
I have decided to put the Ironman goal on the back burner for a little while longer. I think I need to get some good sprint, Olympic, and half Ironman races under my belt before I think anymore about 140.3 miles. I just want to have fun meeting new people and filling my life with fun, health and fitness.
Speaking of fun, my parents got me this book for Christmas.

I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself.

How's the book? I've toyed with buying it a couple of times.
Welcome back -- good to hear your goals for the next year. Keep us updated!
This is the book that convinced me I could be a triathlete. She's hilarious and very helpful.
Welcome back, Mark!
Glad to see you're still around!
Isn't that book the best?! I laughed my ass off. I actually wrote to Jayne after I read it and she wrote me back - we've been corresponding on and off for a couple of years now. She's VERY cool. She keeps talking about doing the race in Chicago - I'll let you know if she's going to be in town and we can go get our books autographed : )
Her next book is in process - it's called "I Need This Donut to Fuel My Workout" and I can't wait to read it!
I thought the front cover had been photoshoped or something but reading these comments .... I will try to get a copy :)
Good luck with the triathlons
Mike
